Zoisite
Details
Zoisite is a calcium aluminium hydroxy sorosilicate mineral, first known as saualpite after its type locality. Wikipedia says it forms prismatic crystals or massive material, ranges from blue-violet through green, brown, pink and yellow to grey or colourless, and was described by Abraham Gottlob Werner in 1805 and named for Sigmund Zois. Hall gives its colours as colourless, white, yellow, brown, blue, green, red and pink, as a solid mass, and says it is often sold together with ruby. Hall associates zoisite with turning negative energy into positive, with realising your own ideas and expressing repressed feelings, and with creativity. She also links it to recovery from illness and to fertility, and says it acts slowly; these are her attributions.
