Details

Variscite is a relatively rare hydrated aluminium phosphate mineral. Wikipedia says it is sometimes confused with turquoise but is usually greener, and that it was first described in 1837 and named after Variscia, the old name for the Vogtland in Germany. Hall describes it as opaque, sometimes veined, in green, grey and white, as a large mass or small encrustations on a matrix. Hall associates it with encouragement, hope and courage, especially for people who are ill and those who care for them, and with opening the heart to unconditional love. She also links it to peaceful sleep when placed under the pillow, to calming nervousness, to past-life exploration, and to clear thinking and communicating ideas. These are Hall's attributions.
