Holy Water
Details
Holy water is a substance that Wikipedia's list of substances used in rituals records for the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. The list says holy water is important to that church and regarded as healing from demonic possession and for treating sick people, particularly in cases of mental illness. It adds that it can be consumed or poured over someone supposed to be afflicted by harmful things. The list's neighbouring column ties the entry to exorcism in the Catholic Church, to holy water in Eastern Christianity and to holy water in the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. The list does not say how the water is made or blessed, where it is taken from, or what rite governs it, so this entry records only the use as the list states it. It has no formal name and its nomenclature is recorded as unknown.
